What the audit checks

The audit scores an account from 0 to 100 using four public signals, each worth a quarter of the score:

Signals we can't measure for an account are left out rather than guessed. 80 and up is excellent, 60 to 79 good, 40 to 59 fair, under 40 weak.

What it does not check

The score is an estimate built from public numbers. It does not look at audience age, gender or location, and it does not inspect followers one by one. Use it to shortlist accounts quickly, then look at their Shorts before you sign anything.

Why these four signals

Brands pay for attention. Reach shows whether people actually see the Shorts, engagement shows whether they care, consistency shows whether a campaign will get delivered on time, and momentum shows whether the audience is growing or fading. A big follower count with weak scores on all four is the classic sign of an account that looks better than it performs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check a YouTube channel's quality?

Compare Shorts views with subscribers, check engagement and posting cadence, and see whether subscribers are growing. The audit scores all four.

Does the audit include long videos?

No. It scores the channel's Shorts, which is the format Buzzlytics tracks.

What is a good engagement rate for Shorts?

Most established Shorts channels land between 2% and 6%. The audit gives full marks at 4%.
